Homage to the beautiful girls that you can see on the paintings

The work, both drawing and sculpture, of Colette Darras, is work isolated, personal and contingent. Informed neither by fashion nor nay current commerce nor by any commission; her works come from deep and sincere desire to express her experience through both choice and study.

There is first, in fact, a period of study, then after with live models at the graduate School of fine Arts in Paris, then an equally lengthy study of ancient Greek art where she acquired her arabesque which characterizes her drawing and the melodious line of her three dimensional forms. This study of statuary lasted several years with models through which she gave homage in the creation of one sculpture, Le Modèle.

The numerous young girls lovingly gave their effort to aid in the search for the beautiful and the true. Alone in a foreign country where no one cared for her work, the young girls offer Colette her favorite theme and at the same time their vital moral support.

With an existential style, she choses themes from her environment.
Colette entered the school of her young friens to experience and understand their scholastic attitude.
